COMMUNICATION

Always feel free to email me if something isn't clear, you have ideas, questions, suggestions or just want to say HI!

My email: brit@freemakermedia.com

My email response hours are M-F / 10AM - 4PM Eastern Standard Time.

I do my best to return all emails within 48 hours.

WORDPRESS 101

I build sites exclusively on WordPress because it's robust, flexible, and allows you to easily update content without having to hire a developer after your site is live.

If you're new to WordPress here's a quick 5-minute video that will give you the lowdown on what it is. If you're familiar already, you can skip this part.

You will get access to the client tutorial video library which includes a series of videos like this one after we launch your site.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

I use a project management system called Dubsado.

It's a place where we can keep track of everything we're working on together.

You will get access to your client portal soon, if you haven't already. There you can find questionnaires, design proofs to approve, emails, a copy of our contract, project information and your invoice.

All in one place. It's ah-mazing.

PRE-WORK

There will be a few forms in your client portal waiting for you:

Web Design Brief
Content Planner
Layout Details
Login Details

*All of these forms must be completed at least 1 week before your start date.

TIMELINE

These are estimates as every project flows differently. Things can move quicker depending on how quickly you give feedback and if I have everything I need before your start date.

Website design only: 4-6 weeks
Website and branding: 6-8 weeks

timeline

The review period begins when I submit the site draft to you for review. How long it takes to review the site is up to you. Last minute modifications will be made during this time period. Launch will happen as soon as you are happy-happy!

THE PROCESS

1.

You read through the welcome page (yep.. that's this page!) and think: yes! I'm ready to do this.

Then you fill out my intake form.

2.

You'll get an email with a link to the actual welcome page where you can schedule your start date or your consult call.

You select a date based on your availability and ability to have all of the required content together at least 1 week before your start date. (This way I can be super prepared to rock.)

3.

I'll then send you over your proposal which includes a list of all the goods you're getting, a contract to put your John Hancock on, and your first invoice which can be paid via debit or credit card.

4.

Now you get access to your :::drum roll::: client portal. After you take a look around you can check out your questionnaires. Here you can upload documents, images and will be able to tell me all of the things about your business, brand, service, product and so on. I will need all of the content uploaded and questionnaires completed at least 1 week before your start date.

5.

After I receive all of your content and questionnaires we can either schedule a short Pre-Start Date Call, or I can send my questions to you via email.

6.

Now's the fun part: I get to work! Here's where the two packages I offer diverge a bit.

For WEBSITE ONLY clients:

Based on the information you've given me I will design a mockup of your new website to send to you for approval. You get 2 revisions so if something isn't looking or feeling right - we'll talk it out and I'll get back to designing.

For WEBSITE AND BRANDING clients:

Based on the information you've given me I will begin designing your moodboard. This includes your color palette, fonts and overall vibe for your site. You get 1 revision to your moodboard included.

Once your brand style guide is locked and loaded I will begin designing your site mockup to send to you for approval.

The revisions are built in so if something isn't looking or feeling right - we'll talk it out and I'll get back to designing.

7.

Once your designs are approved I can go into tech mode and begin developing your website. During this time you just focus on your work and enjoy a bit of radio silence from me.

8.

After the staging site is coded and designed you'll receive a link to review it. At this time you can finish entering content, test all the links and make sure everything looks the way you want. This is the review period. We can take as long as you'd like here to make sure everything is just the way you need it before going live.

9.

If you're happy, I'm happy! We clink our glasses in a toast to a job well done and we LAUNCH YOUR SITE! Now you spread the word about your new home in cyberspace and start focusing on what it is you do best.

10.

You will get tutorial videos that show you how to use your WordPress dashboard, Genesis plugins and Beaver Builder. You'll also get my Best Tools resource e-book to help guide you post-launch.

I'll be available for 14-days via email after launch to answer any questions you have and to troubleshoot should you need it.

No final files will be delivered until final invoice is paid.

PAYMENT

The total project is split into three equal payments.

1. When you select your start date a non-refundable deposit of 25% is due to hold the date. This deposit goes towards the total project balance.

2. The second payment for 25% of the total project cost will be due on or before your start date.

3. The final payment of 50% will be due one week after the site has been submitted for your review.

Payments can be made via debit or credit card.

FINAL STEPS

I will send you your brand style guide which will contain information about your color palette and fonts; and you'll get any digital assets I created for you.
